Reacher - Season 3

English - Action

8 Episodes ~ 50 mins
Prime Video

Everyone’s favorite drifter, Jack Reacher, is back for another season. This time, he returns to working solo—with only limited assistance—unlike last time, when he had the crew of the 110th regiment for help.

This season, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) finds himself in beautiful Maine. He rescues Richard Beck, the son of wealthy businessman Zachary Beck, from a kidnapping attempt. Invited to Beck’s house, Reacher is given a job on Richard’s security detail. From there, he methodically works his way through Beck’s inner circle, revealing his true motivation.

Reacher’s allies this time are DEA agents Susan Duffy and Villanueva. He also receives backup from Neagley, his protégé (introduced in Season 2). Reacher may have finally met his match in Paulie, Beck’s chief of security—a giant of a man who can swat Reacher like a fly!

The episodes move at a fast pace, with only the penultimate one being a dud. The conclusion is epic, featuring a brutal showdown between Reacher and Paulie. The action is solid. The show’s budget is evident—especially with the stunning oceanside mansion, where much of the story unfolds. Technically, this is a top-notch production, with well-executed close-combat fight sequences.

Alan Ritchson is absolutely terrific as the titular character—leaner, meaner, and more muscular this time. He delivers punches and wisecracks with the same effortless charm. Sonya Cassidy as Susan Duffy is just okay—her performance is decent, but her accent feels forced and inconsistent. Meanwhile, Maria Sten as Neagley is super cool, her scenes add to the energy of the show.

While it doesn’t quite reach the excellence of the first season, this season is a major improvement over Season 2, because much of the story revolves around Reacher and how he uses brain and brawn to unravel the situation. If you enjoy a one-man-army protagonist with a solid plot, sharp humor, aren't fussy about acting but love plenty of old-school action, this is definitely worth watching. This makes Season 4 something to look forward to.

  1. Agree with you on this, Season 1 was epic but overall Alan has done justice to the role and character. Very entertaining overall.

  2. He is definitely a good presence and brings his physicality and wry humor which is very close to the character written by Lee Child.
