Raat Jawaan Hai

Hindi - Comedy / Drama
8 episodes / Approx. 35 mins
SonyLiv

The show is about 3 millennial "friends for life" and how they cope with modern parenting.

Suman(Priya Bapat) , a Marathi girl married to a Punjabi man, is a mother to a toddler boy. Radhika (Anjali Anand), married to a physiotherapist, has a talkative young daughter. Avinash (Barun Sobti), an MBA "stay at home dad" whose wife is an attorney, has a young baby boy.

Over the eight episodes, we witness their hilarious struggles with birthday parties, playdates, finding personal time, nanny searches, in-law visits, preschool explorations, and botched staycations.

Barun Sobti is an amazing  actor and his comic timing is very good. He is effortless and has some really funny lines.  Anjali Anand (aka the "fat shamed" sister in Rocky Rani ki...) is easily the best of the three, she is very very good! Sentimental, sensitive, yet bashful and overbearing! Priya Bapat is very nice  as the demure and simple girl, who wants different, but can never ask!

The show is light hearted and the three leads are absolutely on point. Their chemistry is brilliant and they could easily be thick friends for real!

The witty dialogue is simply terrific. The show is directed by Sumeet Vyas (himself a fine actor). He does a superb job of keeping it engaging and running in fair tempo, navigating through so many different situations. There are some lovely small parts/cameos by the parents, which also make the show fun.

It does get a a bit sentimental and a little long drawn towards the last two episodes, but it is still a  "feel good" show which will have you glued in and feeling warm and fuzzy. I had a great time watching this and am sure you will too!
