One of Apple TV+ BEST programming - A British Spy show about a unit dubbed “The Slow Horses” - a team which is given all the dirty work that MI5 (British Intelligence) does not want anything to have to do with!
Given that the principal characters have been setup in the First season and moving on from the death of a key character in Season 2, this season deals with the kidnap of one of their very own!. The show gallops along two parallel investigations which eventually end up towards a rather stunning last couple of episodes which are a master class in dialogue and staging of a confrontation sequence. Raw humor, double crossing and old school spy with modern tech and Mick Jagger’s song as a theme - can’t get any more British!
The ever dependable Old guard of Gary Oldman (disgustingly drunk , never bathing, ever farting and utterly condescending boss!) , Kristin Scott Thomas are superb. Jack Lowden as the “bumbling” but good at intention agent Cartwright is endearing ( I hope he can be spotted by the producers of James Bond! - deserves an audition, at least for his running skills:)). Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish is the show’s moral compass - absolutely lovely!
If you haven’t watched the show - I suggest you do - It is one of the best across any streaming platforms right now.
